After three successful days of ‘INHABIT’, which saw the best part of 1000 people visiting the show, the exhibition closed its doors on Sunday evening, while the ever changing crowd attending the Hackney Wicked Festival was still moving around, in search of art, entertainment and a cold drink in the evening sun.
Lee Cavaliere, gallery manager at Max Wigram gallery and Sarah Roesink of studio ideologio, came up with the idea for a show around the theme of architecture and space. INHABIT is really only the start, a bigger show is planned for later in the year focussing on either end of the inhabited space. The space before it is inhabited and the space after people have left, eerie white walls and uncanny memories that live in the rooms left vacant, are the subject of the upcoming project.
Coming back to the recent show, suiting the theme, the exhibition was hosted in Cavaliere’s home which he shares with artist Kit Merritt who was also part of the show.

On Saturday Sarah held a Pinhole Photography workshop for Diesel, as part of their Diesel Island campaign. It took place at the Britannia Pub next to Victoria Park. They kindly let her use their upstairs flat, where Sarah installed a makeshift darkroom, in the bathroom. Although the weather was mostly overcast and exposure times were a lengthy 15 minutes for some, everyone managed to get some very nice results!
If you’d like Sarah to visit you with a portable darkroom, for a pinhole photography workshop get in touch!
