We had the great pleasure to work with Lida and Nate of Superfusionlab Architects on their showcase A1 posters. The inspiring work that the City based practice has produced over the years gave a lot of food for thought and helped us compose two pieces of A1 print for showcasing the work, forming a basis of a cleared identity. We divided the work into four categories that identify the practice. Lightweight, Continuity, Hard Body-Soft Body and Transition. It was a fascinating experience working with sophisticated designers from another discipline and this opened a dialogue between graphic design and architecture and produced a better outcome.
The posters are designed on a rigid typographic structure but the pictures are allowed to flow free on another level. This was a direct expression of the practice’s ‘Continuity’, ‘Hard Body-Soft Body’ ideas.Superfusionlab are restlessly pushing the boundaries of architecture with experimental projects, academic work and commissions. One of the experimental recent work is the interactive installation / game BUILDING’S NOSE currently on display at ‘Smell’ installation at Gaite Lyrique in Paris with Hide&Seek, until 12 August 2012.
