We created the design direction for the new editorial website The Hub by London City bank Kleinwort Benson. The well-known investment bank needed a contemporary looking site to showcase innovation in the business world of today and feature success stories, start ups, advice, interviews and inspired entrepreneurs.
We worked closely with Lucy Charlewood from content marketing agency QUAD who asked us to come up with a new concept for reviving the brand and create a style for imagery that would be creative and different but in line with the existing brand guidelines.
Part of the work was to simplify and organise the site content and navigation, making it easily accessible. Then we structured it in a contemporary fashion but introduced some distinctive elements such as the diagonal image gallery, the overlapping text, and a more unique archive page. We kept the existing brand colour scheme and typeface to retain consistency throughout the brand look and feel, however we introduced a more refined modernist structure and typographic detail.
A strategy was then created for illustrative images that would be easily applied by any team and create a distinctive voice.
